I've recently subscribed to them and the following is my feedback of their services.

GPINOY - they also have a lower cost package for Ps 99.00 a month, they call GPinoy.
Advantages of GSAT: I love that they have 8 channels already in High Definition format. If you have screens at home already that are capable of HD display (1080p format), then you will appreciate having that much detail. I am mostly watching educational channels and these are available in GSAT HD & SD Package - Discovery HD, Nat Geo Wild, Discovery Science, History Channel, National Geographic. Sports is another and they have Fox Sports HD, Golf Channel HD, Fox Sports 1 & 2, Basketball TV. For international news there is Al Jazeera - one of the best sources of up to date news without the slant or spin you get from CNN or Fox News. I'm not much of a movie fan but they do have a good line-up of about 8 channels with 4 of them in High Definition. Inconveniences of GAT: The fact that this is a satellite receiver, you are going to encounter disruptions if line of sight is blocked by heavy clouds (the type that brings rain). So far I've only been using it for less than a month and I have experienced about 5 minutes of disruption at a time during those times that rain clouds pass through our area. I have not experienced those day long heavy rains yet so I cannot comment on that at the moment. Paying your bills is not as convenient as the other subscription providers where online payment through bank is available. You have several options to pay but there is an additional step you have to do after you pay which is to inform them that you paid via email or text or by calling their call center. I guess they do not have yet the proper collection mechanism to interface with collection channels. Consider those options before subscribing and feel free to ask ( in the comments box below) if you have questions on their service. |
